IeAT is a twelve years old private non-profit Romanian research institute in computer science organised as an association between three public universities to sustain their R&D activities. More than forty researchers from the Computer Science departments of West and Politehnica Universities of Timisoara, and Johannes-Kepler University of Linz, are currently working to the institute’s projects granted by national and European research agencies. The team involved in the project is specialized in distributed computing, artificial intelligence, software engineering and security.
RELEVANCE TO THE PROPOSAL
IeAT brings extensive knowledge in distributed systems and software development. The latest 5 years activities were focused on Cloud computing technologies.
IeAT was and is involved in more than 10 national projects in the CEEX and PNII programme, half of them as coordinator. In the frame of EC FP6/FP7 projects in distributed systems significant projects with IeAT contributions are the followings: AVANTSSAR& SpaCIoS – formal verification of trust/security in service based systems, SCIEnce –scientific Grid services, DEHEMS –Web services for energy consumption monitoring. In the particular field of Cloud computing in FP7/CIP, IeAT has lead scientifically mOSAIC –portability in Clouds–, and is currently involved in MODAClouds –model-driven engineering for Clouds–, SPECS –security SLAs management– and SEED –Cloud-based e-government services.
TASKS ASSIGNED AND ROLE IN THE PROJECT
IeAT is participant in the project. It is responsible for leading workpackage 5. It also leads tasks: T4.1, T5.2, and T5.3 as well as being involved in other tasks.
