CloudLightning Sessions

The European Commission recognises the strategic nature of High-Performance Computing (HPC) as a vital asset for the EU’s capacity for innovation to address societal and scientific challenges. As part of the vision for a Digital Single Market, the European Commission launched several initiatives such as The European Cloud Initiative, European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), and the European Data Infrastructure (EDI) which aim to provide researchers, the scientific community, industry and public services with top class data infrastructure, high-speed connectivity and HPC technologies, applications and systems. This session provides a forum for academic and scientific communities and ICT service providers to present on various aspects of digital and e-infrastructures, such as:

  • Current infrastructure support for academic / scientific communities
  • Application profiles and future applications
  • Future trajectory and trends
  • New hardware and developments
