Scope of the Special Issue
Cloud Computing has been widely adopted by academia and industry over the last decade. Moreover, in recent years, many devices have become cloud aware and many services are migrating to the cloud. This evolution reflects the increasing size and diversity of cloud computing infrastructures that provide support for communication services, end-user applications, and sensor data. As cloud computing data centres grow bigger, the problem of efficiently managing resources; increasing server utilisation; reducing energy consumption; and incorporating heterogeneity, is becoming ever more complex.
In the context of the challenges to be addressed in realising the next generation cloud, submissions of previously unpublished scientific work are sought from technology leaders, cloud computing experts and the wider community. Position papers, setting out a vision for next generation cloud are also welcome.
Topics of Interest
Topics of interest include but are not limited to: Cloud Architecture, HPC in the cloud, Incorporating novel resource hardware in the Cloud, Decentralised Cloud Management, Self-organising and Self-managing clouds, Energy Aware Clouds, Tools & Environments, Modelling large scale systems, Novel Cloud Computing Environments and Service-Oriented Architectures.
