CloudLightning’s first public deliverable, “Use Case Requirements Report” was released today.
This report presents four use cases that are targeted in the CloudLightning project: genomics, oil and gas exploration, ray tracing, and self-optimised libraries. The report presents a general overview over the HPC market, details the requirements, stakeholders and means to evaluate the identified use case applications. It also outlines further application areas in sparse and dense matrix computation.
The report involved successful collaboration between several project partners, each with their own domain expertise: Maxeler (Genomics) , Intel (Ray Tracing), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Oil and Gas Exploration), Democritus University of Thrace (Generic Dense and Sparse matrix computations) and Dublin City University (HPC Market Overview).
